The pandemic has underscored many of the disparities and inequities in our country, including the disproportionate impact of poverty on vulnerable populations. For Indigenous communities in Canada, racism and exclusion inherent in historical and current colonial policy has exacerbated and entrenched poverty. If we are to make meaningful progress to end poverty in Canada, Indigenous communities must be central to this conversation.
