The Community Change Institute is designed to be a truly transformational learning experience. Each year this gathering draws people together like a magnet from across the continent and around the world. Inspired people, just like you, will gather in Toronto - We welcome you to join us during this exciting week!

swan_flock_flight.jpgOne of the incredible aspects of a gathering like this, is that it presents an opportunity to learn directly from leaders in the field of community change. Additionally, we believe in a participatory, co-generative space for learning so that our members are offered an opportunity to dive deeply into key streams of learning that are foundational to effective community change - we welcome learning in many forms.

Joining us at the CCI is an opportunity to come together and meet, learn and share with other inspired people from around the world!

Already, we are looking forward to welcoming two organizations who are joining us from Denmark this year! Allow me the pleasure of introducing the work of Lauritzen Fonden and the Social Development Centre (SUS) in anticipation of their arrival to Toronto this September:

1. Lauritzen Fonden: Values and Vision

The Vision of Lauritzen Fonden, as stated on their website is:

"We want to create change in the Danish society. We do this by supporting projects that create ripples in the water. We are not afraid to go forward and break new ground in our awards. We want to create value for our projects through financial support, but also by increasing visibility around them so that their case can be heard, and the public. We love those who are passionate about their cause, and we support the passionate enthusiasts with a strong vision."

The 4 Core Values of the Lauritzen Fonden are:

  • Promise: We believe in education and qualification, as a crucial springboard
  • Strength: To move social and humanitarian projects forward
  • Ambition: Reflected in our business activities and investments
  • Passion: Culture as a space for creativity and an essential dimension of life

"We believe and support those who have the strength to believe in themselves and their talent. It is the substance of our DNA Believe in You. When we believe in each other, we can create changes that benefit society broadly."

2. Social Development Centre (SUS): Belief and Action

In their own words: "Social Development Centre SUS is an incubator for social innovation and social inventions. We develop and carry through projects and initiatives directed at creating better terms of life for the socially vulnerable and a positive environment for the employees."

From the SUS website:

SUS’ mission is to develop and implement initiatives, and to improve the possibilities for people in difficult life situations to have a good life.

SUS’ vision is:

  • To be Denmark’s most brave incubator for social inventions, methods and tailored solutions
  • To be a standard bearer for user influence
  • To challenge systems and organize remarkable political, social- and labor market changes

SUS’ fundamental value is: We do what we believe in and believe in what we do.

Stay tuned and join in!
