CASE STUDY | Central Iowa Shows Reducing Poverty is Possible

Collective Impact, Case Studies, Poverty Reduction, Cities Reducing Poverty, Elle Richards

Since 2015, 36,000 more central Iowans are now financially self-sufficient.
Central Iowa has achieved success in poverty reduction through the work of their OpportUNITY Plan using a Collective Impact model. With a goal of reducing poverty for 75% of the population, central Iowa is well into its impact journey.

OpportUNITY is a Collective Impact initiative fighting to reduce poverty and eliminate barriers that prevent central Iowans from thriving in Polk, Warren, and Dallas counties. United Way of Central Iowa provides the backbone support for OpportUNITY.
