invest in community to end poverty in all its forms

Tamarack is a Canadian charity dedicated to ending poverty for good. We support real people and invest in real communities for long-term change.

why tamarack?

Our motto: Community is a verb.

That means taking action and working with real people, in the places they live, work, and play, to solve real issues, for good.

In the spirit of going beyond charity, we partner with communities for true, sustainable change. This means getting to the root of the issue.

By donating to Tamarack, you are contributing to this sustainable changemaking and providing our communities with things like:

Barrier-free and inclusive educational opportunities for equity-deserving community members

Compensation for individuals with the lived experience to provide leadership to community-building efforts in their communities

Funding for collaborative innovation projects and action to sustain collective impact

Support for the ongoing development of new tools, updates to existing materials, and the overall care of Tamarack’s extensive collection of free resources

Event Access

Events that foster participant engagement

We carefully create community-building events, hosting diverse knowledge holders and dedicated changemakers. Sponsoring a Tamarack-wide event allows us to continue to offer barrier-free registration fees for those who qualify as well as continue to support communities hosting in-person meet-ups as part of virtual events.

Resources and Tools

Available to all who wish to learn and
participate

We believe in high-quality, open-source resources. We co-create tools, webinars, guides, and educational materials, supporting informed and practical decisions and actions. A gift can build upon the ongoing development of new tools or help us create something missing in the changemaker toolkit.
