climate transitions
A movement of 35+ collaboratives across 10 provinces and one US state that are advancing local climate action and equity through multi-sector partnerships and approaches that centre residents and the community. Launched in 2021, Climate Transitions helps build the capacity and skills of community changemakers –including leaders from municipalities, non-profits, community groups, businesses, and beyond– to collaborate and shift systems to achieve transformative change.
Stories of Impact
designing well-being economies in canada and abroad
Growing poverty, escalating climate change and deteriorating mental health are not only some of the most visible symptoms of a system that fails to align with the needs of people and planet; they are outcomes embedded in its very design. The Well-being Economies Alliance for Canada and Sovereign Indigenous Nations is an emerging network dedicated to reimagining the economy to enable systems that deliver well-being for all people and the planet.

Belonging, Community and Climate Action
By promoting a sense of community and belonging, we can spur climate action. At the same time, climate action is a means to building and strengthening belonging. This compilation of short pieces by contributing authors from across Turtle Island explores the layers of interconnection between these areas, both in practical and theoretical terms.
Tackling climate change, promoting equity, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through community-level action is at the core of our work. We support multi-solving approaches and holistic solutions, recognizing the deep interconnections between issues such as health and wellbeing, poverty, climate mitigation and resilience, belonging and inclusion, and social justice.

We host communities of practice (including the Climate Transition Cohort for first-year members), webinars, workshops, and other events; produce publications that share our learnings and community impact stories; and support our members with specialized coaching. We also offer members microgrants to seed and scale local projects through the CCT Innovation Fund and advance equity, diversity, inclusion, justice, and reconciliation through the Community Contributions Fund.

Evaluating Community Impact
meet the team
Our work is guided and informed by an Advisory Group of 11 climate and equity leaders representing the nonprofit, grassroots, public, and private sectors, and distributed across five Canadian provinces. Advisory Group members operate at local, regional, and pan-Canadian levels, and contribute rich and valuable lived and living experiences. Six are CCT members and the remaining five are with partner organizations.
