Growing poverty, escalating climate change, and deteriorating mental health are not only some of the most visible symptoms of a system that fails to align to the needs of people and planet – they are outcomes embedded in its very design.

The Well-being Economies Alliance for Canada and Sovereign Indigenous Nations (WEAll Can) is an emerging network dedicated to reimagining the economy to enable systems that deliver wellbeing for all people and the planet.

One of the most transformative aspects of shifting from a linear to a circular economic model is that instead of wasting time and resources fixing the societal and environmental damage caused by growth-focused economies, a wellbeing economy can deliver good life standards the first time around.

Keep reading to gain insights on the following:

  1. Why it’s time to rethink traditional (linear) economic models

  2. How a care-based, well-being-focused (circular) economy contributes to more equitable and supportive outcomes for all

  3. The key principles, goals, and values that define a well-being economy

  4. How actors across Canada are introducing well-being economy frameworks in their communities – complemented by a rich variety of examples, guides, and other resources to help you take action where you are

  5. How a handful of governments (including Canada’s) are committing to policy redesign in support of global systems change.
