Liz Weaver is the Co-CEO of Tamarack Institute where she is leading the Tamarack Learning Centre. Liz is well-known for her thought leadership on Collaborative Leadership and Collective Impact and is the author of several popular and academic papers on those topics. In her role at Tamarack, Lisa works with cities, organizations and coalitions to improve the way they engage with their communities. Over the last seven years her work has focused on creating authentic engagement strategies and building the culture for engagement, integrated communications planning, and the use of technology and creativity for engagement. Lisa constantly advocates for simplicity in infrastructure, frameworks and design and loves applying the principles of marketing, advertising, loyalty, and user experience to community initiatives.

Practice Area: Evaluating Impact
Pamela is a Consulting Director of the Tamarack Institute’s Evaluating Impact Practice Area. She is passionate about supporting and facilitating an interplay of learning and evaluation that creates transformative experiences aimed at developing healthy, equitable, gender-responsive and rights-based communities. With over 20 years of experience designing and facilitating training, leading social policy research and evaluation processes, she has worked extensively within the international and Canadian NGO sector in the fields of international human rights education, gender equality, and community development. Pamela recently published Assessing Readiness for Community-Engaged Evaluation through Tamarack Institute.

Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Tamarack Institute
Paul Born is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Tamarack Institute, A 27,000 person learning community and the Founder and Director of Vibrant Communities, Cities Reducing Poverty and Cities Deepening Community with chapters now active in nearly 400 cities. He is the author of four books, including two Canadian best-sellers. Paul is a global faculty member of the Asset Based Community Development Institute (ABCD) and a senior fellow of Ashoka, the world’s largest network of social innovators. Paul was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2019.
Paul grew up as the son of Mennonite refugees. This is what made him deeply curious about and engaged in ideas that cause people to work together for the common good. He has a passion for ending poverty and a longing for community. Paul has founded three pan-Canadian organizations and five regional ones. These organizations have been recognized with national and international awards from the United Nations, Imagine Canada, The Conference Board of Canada, CEDNET, Trillium Foundation and the Governor General. Paul has taught, provided consultation and delivered keynotes in over a dozen countries around the world. He holds a B.A. from the University of Waterloo and a Masters in Leadership from Royal Roads University.
