The Professionals Who Put People at the Centre

Professional

Tuesday was February 11 - 211Day.

If you haven't spent time with 211 professionals, I hope you will have the opportunity someday.

These professionals bring care, empathy, patience, and the power of deep listening to other humans.

They bring knowledge about community services and about how people's situations might match those services - the kind of knowledge gained only through experience.

Because they are in touch with so many people and services, they gain a deep understanding of our food, housing and other systems;  this information is essential for decisions about funding, policy, and service coordination.

They adapt again and again with creativity and a human-centred approach as technology changes what it looks like to gather and provide information.

And so much more.

Happy 211 day to all of the 211 professionals.
