Seeing Each Other

Seeing Each Other

Transforming systems depends on so very many things, including seemingly small choices by individual people.

I've been noticing one of those choices a lot recently, and it fills me with hope and resolve.

It happens when people are in conversations - the starting place for systems change. Someone is sharing and uses some of their space to acknowledge the brilliance of a collaborator. Sometimes they're noting how someone steps into work that they're particularly positioned to do. Or how someone sees patterns. Or how they convene groups. Or how they are able to see and name an emerging opportunity. Or something else. Whatever is shared is shared authentically.

I think these choices to appreciate other people mean so much at a time when so many people are doing such amazing work to foster community and end our many types of poverty - oftentimes against headwinds.

Thank you all for seeing one another.
