What is Asset Based Community Development and how can it drastically improve communities?

How can we improve traditional community development approaches, putting power back into the hands of people?

How can we shift from a societal model in which citizens are powerless and dependent on institutions?

The complex challenges facing our communities today require us to think outside of the box. For this, we turn to Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). An ABCD world is one in which people are not only supported but are placed in positions of autonomy and become their own producers, as opposed to consumers. An ABCD approach highlights the gifts communities, supporting them in their best interests from health, to security, to climate, and more.
