Just came across this incredible resource - Gamestorming - A Playbook for Innovators, Rulebreakers, and Changemakers by Dave Gray, Sunni Brown, and James Macanufo (2010).
The games are fun, easy to implement and adaptable to many situations. There are great suggestions to make your meetings more visual. While some of the games are tried and true - dot voting for example (I call it dotmocracy) - there are some interesting twists.
The chapters include the 10 essentials of gamestorming, core gamestorming skills, core games, games for opening, exploring and closing.
I recently facilitated a session and used four of the games to build a vision, core values, develop a community story and identify 'who do' what. The session did not feel like work and engaged participants in new an innovative ways.
I would recommend Gamestorming to anyone who is facilitating community change efforts.
