WEBINAR | Intersections & Innovations - Perspectives on the State of the Canadian Voluntary Sector

Canada has a deep and rich history of voluntary sector leadership and engagement. Intersections and Innovations capture the history and context of the charitable and voluntary sector and look at the unique attributes of the structures, collaborations and people that are engaged in this work of enabling change. The publication highlights the history of the voluntary sector in Canada and through the perspectives of different authors, provides a compelling future path.

Dr. Susan Phillips, School of Public Policy & Administration, Carleton University, Join Bob Wyatt, Executive Director, The Muttart Foundation, in conversation with Liz Weaver, Co-CEO, Tamarack Institute. The trio will discuss the unique roots and history of Canada’s charitable sector and how this history shaped the current state of the sector. They will also discuss the dynamic and shifting challenges that organizations and the sector will face in a post-pandemic world.

Social innovation, impact investing, leadership, community wealth building, policy capacity and digital transformation are some of the many future-focused topics explored in Intersections and Innovations. The conversation will highlight the opportunities and challenges facing organizations, collaboratives and the sector as it continues to drive transformational change in Canada.
