About

The purpose of the City Convenor Community of Practice (CoP) is to bring together committed  members of the Cities Reducing Poverty nework with Vibrant Communities Canada staff every month to share presentations, information, and updates that are aimed at strengthening our members' local poverty reduction efforts. Membership in the CoP is restricted to only include individuals who are affiliated with a local poverty reduction roundtable or initiative that is a committed member of the Cities Reducing Poverty network. Benefits of Membership

Cities Reducing Poverty members (i.e. convenors) have exclusive access to these monthly learning calls hosted by Vibrant Communities Canada staff. Members are committed to sharing ideas and information about their local poverty reduction efforts in a supportive peer learning network and to contributing to our collective knowledge of best practices for poverty reduction.

Our Commitment 

  • Provide a system of support and ongoing professional learning and development for individuals who are members of the Vibrant Communities Canada - Cities Reducing Poverty network
  • Share and participate in the identification of leading best practices for poverty reduction
  • Build and strengthen relationships between Cities Reducing Poverty members and Vibrant Communities Canada staff within a supportive and connected peer learning community
  • Provide connections and/or mentorship to build the capacity of poverty reduction practitioners as they develop strategies, engage their communities, build poverty reduction roundtables and more

Exclusively for CRP Members 

The City Convenor Community of Practice is comprised of individuals who belong to local poverty reduction roundtables or municipally-led poverty reduction initiatives that have purchased an organizational membership to belong to the Cities Reducing Poverty network.
