The Health Results Team for Information Management created the Health System Intelligence Project to complement and augment the existing analytical and planning capacity within the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. This module is meant to acquaint its readers with the why and the how of community engagement. It provides definitions, theories and frameworks that lie behind community engagement, it provides examples of the manageable tensions within community engagement, and it describes basic community engagement tools.
