The thought of shared measurement can be intimidating. In fact, it’s been compared to “traditional measurement on steroids” but the process doesn’t have to be so overwhelming. This case study explores Sault Ste. Marie Poverty Roundtable’s one-year journey building the foundations of a shared measurement system, starting with establishing common indicators.
The Sault Ste. Marie Poverty Roundtable was formed in 2015 when the United Way of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District, the Algoma Public Health Unit, and NORDIK Institute (a community-based research institute affiliated with Algoma University) brought together community members, leaders and service providers to discuss a number of recent research reports and consultations relating to poverty and wellbeing.
