Kimber recently joined the Communities Building Youth Futures team to support communities in addressing complex issues impacting young people and to develop learning opportunities and resources for community change. She values choice and voice and prioritizes the involvement of people with lived experience in community development.
Kimber is an experienced facilitator and mental health advocate/change agent who brings a lived experience lens to her work and has spent the past 10 years in the non-profit industry, with a focus in youth program development. Prior to joining Tamarack, she worked at a national charity, designing, implementing and evaluating self-employment training programs for entrepreneurs with lived experience. Kimber's passion for youth empowerment and creative collaboration brought her to Concordia University to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Specialization in Art Education and Minor in Human Environment. Kimber believes in the power of storytelling to share learnings and to ignite change and growth.
In her spare time, Kimber enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing hockey, cooking new recipes and camping.
