For the past seven years, we've passionately nurtured and empowered communities across Canada under the name "Cities Deepening Community" and "Deepening Community."
Today, we become Communities Building Belonging.
Belonging is the essence of community. It is the feeling of being at home, welcomed, accepted, and a part of something bigger than us. It is where individuals can find purpose, and strength, form bonds and thrive. This rebranding was inspired by and accompanies our call to action to the Canadian government for a National Plan for Belonging, a plan that will centre community voices, focus on shifting power, and commit to inclusivity.
Sincerely,
The Communities Building Belonging Team
What would happen if we had a National Plan for Belonging that centred residents and community groups to design and deliver local approaches in the voice of their own communities and that was sustained with dedicated resources committed to providing care for our community caretakers?
We have an open invitation to learners in our network and beyond to share their stories, their wisdom, and their thoughts on what a National Strategy for Belonging needs to have and who needs to be a part of it.
