Calling Young Changemakers!

Call-out to youth for blog submissions

Are you aged 15 to 30?

Do you believe that young people play an important role in their communities? We are looking for original blogs, interviews, poems, personal stories, illustrations or photo essays that have a focus on collaboration, neighbourhoods, community change, and leadership

Why? We believe that we can learn a lot from youth. We believe that youth who live in Canada perspectives, beliefs, and visions for the future should shape our work and we want to share these with change-makers across Canada.

Sounds great. Tell me more.

To celebrate the launch of the Communities Building Youth Futures (CBYF) initiative Tamarack wants to include youth blogs in our bi-monthly publication.

Tamarack Institute in partnership with the Government of Canada is implementing Communities Building Youth Futures. This five-year initiative with 13 communities across Canada will collaboratively develop solutions that support youth (aged 15 to 30) as they build and act upon plans for their future. The goal is to support youth in navigating transitions through high school graduation, post-secondary education, training, and employment.

Key outcomes of this initiative include:

  • Youth will be supported in their education to employment journey

  • Youth will have a voice and contribute to initiatives that support them in their educational outcomes

  • Communities will have an increased awareness of and capacity for addressing the challenges being faced by local youth
