For many, September is a month of transition, one that marks the beginning of a period of renewed focus and determination. For a team called Community Climate Transitions, you can imagine just how thrilled we are to welcome you back to an exciting new season of Canada-wide climate action!
We have been busy organizing an exciting virtual event in November packed with inspiring keynote speakers, panels, workshops and masterclasses on topics related to climate, equity and the essential role of communities in the transition.
We’ve also continued to support the work of our dynamic Communities of Practice, and we’re excited to embark on a season of collaboration, connection, and change with new participants from all over Canada. Watch for our next newsletter for our 2023 Cohort opportunities.
Our growing team has been hard at work on a suite of resources designed to accelerate your impact and facilitate meaningful collaborations no matter where you are on your climate action journey.
Virtual gathering, with local meetups across Canada
November 15-16, 2022
This national gathering will bring together community changemakers from across Turtle Island to connect and learn from one another about taking inclusive and equitable climate action through a whole-community approach.
With a growing community of over 1,500 changemakers and climate champions from across Canada, we are thrilled to be bringing together members, supporters and friends of Tamarack's Community Climate Transitions network around the themes of resident-led and partnership-based approaches to climate transition, centering equity and justice in climate work and leading with hope and care.
Over the two days, you will have an opportunity to hear from inspiring speakers, take part in specially curated workshops and masterclasses, meet other community climate movers and shakers, access learning resources and much more!
Many communities across Canada have started developing local climate plans, even as the necessary financial supports for this work are still largely missing.
In this blog post, we introduce strategies and resources for helping local groups big and small grow their impact and take their initiatives the next level.
If you are a nonprofit or community organization and your initiative is ready to move to the next level of organizing, or if you are a municipal actor looking to work with community groups to grow their impact, then this Collective Climate Action Funding resource is for you!
This resource is packed with case studies of successfully funded climate projects, and actionable information about funding opportunities at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
Our Climate Entrepreneurship Guide was conceived to help individuals and citizen-led groups at the early stages of their journey take their first steps moving from grassroots status to a sustainable entity. Among the strategies explored in this resource, we introduce and explore the Collective Impact approach.
We are building a network of communities that are committed to advancing the SDGs and tackling climate change through a multi-solving approach. The Tamarack team is here to support you on your journey.
